A cart is released from rest at the top of an incline.  The maximum velocity attained by the cart is found from a velocity vs. time graph to be compared with the velocity that can be found using energy. This is the Lab 4 Tier 2 Challenge Set-Up. This set-up presents an “error” in conducting the trial which affects the student’s result. The challenge is for the student to determine what Danny did wrong in conducting his trial and determining how the error impacted the results.
